Zero-Emission Ride and Drive – Port of Long Beach – December 7, 2022
On December 7, 2022, the eTRUC team attended the Zero-Emission Ride and Drive hosted by the Harbor Trucking Association at the Port of Long Beach. The event provides the opportunity to showcase a range of fuel cell and battery electric trucks such as the Toyota Kenworth, Peterbilt, Nikola, Hyundai, and Hyzon. Along with the tour and test driving opportunities, various informational booths were set up to provide resources on financing, insurance, electric charging maintenance and repair services to participants. The event provides fleets, truck operators, industry experts and the general public the opportunity to observe and interact with new electric vehicle technologies.
Members of the CALSTART and GRID team were in attendance and hosted an eTRUC booth to introduce the project to participants. The eTRUC team spoke to many industry experts, answered various project-related questions and provided resources to those interested in learning more about eTRUC, all in the effort to elevate eTRUC’s project profile. As part of eTRUC’s community-first approach, members of the CTAC and WDAC were invited to participate in the event. Pictured below is one of our WDAC members, Danny Gamboa, providing tours of his Toyota Kenworth hydrogen fuel cell truck. The Ride and Drive event is one of many planned engagement activities within the eTRUC project. The eTRUC team looks forward to engaging stakeholders and community members at similar events throughout the project lifetime.
