Workforce Development Advisory Committee (WDAC)

Overview of the Committee:

The Workforce Development Advisory Committee (WDAC) consists of relevant stakeholders throughout the ecosystem. They will provide their input and expertise on subject matters including economic trends, training, employment opportunities, and impact measurement tools for the project.

Members:

The WDAC is composed of relevant representatives from industry, government, non-profit organizations, academia, labor, and community-based organizations (CBOs).

Objectives:

  • Provide input on a Workforce Development Plan (draft and final);
  • Identify existing and anticipated workforce development needs and industry barriers;
  • Identify opportunities for workforce development and education across different MD/HD transportation and charging infrastructure segments;
  • Propose workforce development strategy and timeline for the project;
  • Discuss and identify planned partnerships with educational institutions, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, workforce recruitment organizations and others;
  • Identify and implement best practices for engaging local communities and increasing participation in workforce development activities;
  • Assist in the development of outreach strategies to support broader workforce development network and capacity building.
